We drove down to Pinnacles national monument on Saturday. I wanted to leave early, but got called to go into work and we also got a chance to serve breakfast at the local family shelter. It really makes me ashamed when I complain about this or that and then I go there and see single mother of 4 trying to make it by. With this updated perspective I can see clearer the blessing I have been given without deserving any of it.
Of course we took the Bike and had a great time. The weather out here has been a lot of rain, but it was perfect this weekend. All of the long sustained rain has made for one of the greenest springs I have ever seen. Tons of trees in full blossom and flowers everywhere.
When we got there we went on a short hike to a cave. We always go prepared as you have to be traveling with a diabetic. Brenda had to stop for a snack and it is a good excuse for me to eat to. After a long day at work without food I sometimes get home and complain to Brenda about beeing shaky and hungry. Just for kicks she will take my blood sugar and it is about 80 or so (FYI the pin prick hurts). I then get emberessed and shut up because she can sometimes be about 40 and doesn't compain one bit. She is a hardcore wife.
Here we are on the hike. A great thing this time of year are streams. These are not year round streams and usually are dry so it is great to see them running.
The caves were open. You may ask what do you mean open??? Well they are closed aout 11months out of the year to give some bat a nesting place...thanks big government for saving a bat and screwing the rest of us.
The light in the middle is Brenda...well it is a headlamp on Brenda's head.
Brenda looking at the waterfall inside of the cave.
Shooting stars
Riding Home....the colors on my camera could not do it justice.
On Sunday we went to Davis to visit my aunt and uncle. My cousin from England was in town with her new baby Kayli so we also got to see her as well. The above picture is a bit wierd and I think the baby looks like a doll.....anyone else?
Cuter pictures to follow.

Here she is....very adorable.
I am not sure she liked me much, but I was trying to show her how unattractive you can be when you cry. Brenda and I posing as parents.
So cute...the baby isn't bad either.
On the left is my aunt Rose and right is my dad's brother Ted.
And yes the final picture with the real mother of the baby. Cara is a fellow diabetic pumper and her and Brenda could talk nonstop for about 2 months straight. Her husband couldn't come out as he still has to work. I know how he feels as Brenda regularly leaves me during the summer. I feel like there are a lot of baby pics here for not actually having a kid. Oh well.
Oh ya, just found out I got poison oak from our hike....really sucks, but was worth it.

Thanks for taking us on a motor cycle ride with you guys. Pretty cool! I always wondered what it would be like.
Also...That baby girl really does look like a doll. Creepy.
Not creepy.....Cute
John and Brenda:
Great pictures and it looks like you had a great time. We miss you guys. Glad you could see Kara and the baby.
The tulips are just about to bloom up here. It is suppose to be in the mid 60's this weekend.
Take care.
Mom and Dad
Right. The picture was creepy. The baby...quite cute. Does that make any sense? It does to me.
The only thing creepy to me is John pretending to be the dad of a doll. It's time to step up to the plate and be a real man John.
Besides, we just bought a new minivan and I need somebody else to buy one so we can have daddy minivan races. That's the mark of a real man's man.
[Sigh...]
hey, John, how's the poison oak doing? That's something I don't miss.
